The frustration of dealing with the big Internet Service Providers (ISP s) is REAL! There is a temptation to jump ship and go with the other guy, and that is always your right – and you should exercise your rights – with caution!
First, if you are using an email that is linked to your ISP – so if you are with Bell, that could be firstname.lastname@example.org, @bell.net, or @bellnet.ca – Whoa HOLD IT! Do not switch away until you have setup another email address with the likes of gmail or outlook or any of the webbased providers NOT linked to who you pay your internet to. Then take a month, and send out an email to all your contacts informing them of the switch and redirect any stragglers in a firm, “Mom/Dad of a 10 year old voice ” to change your address immediately or risk being ignored! As a matter of fact, if you ARE using an email tied to your ISP you should switch anyway – don’t wait ’til you want to dump their services.
Second…canvass the neighbourhood and ask who they use and are they happy with the service. There are areas right here in BelleVegas that are so underserved by the ISP with 4 Letters who shall remain nameless that get abysmal speed and bandwidth, so that will likely result in increased frustration for you. Cellular or LTE based services might be an alternative to phone or cable solutions, but they are almost never as fast or as cheap.
Last- if you are not happy with your service and you dread calling them…we can help. email@example.com @TheComputerStore
